GAZ Group is developing dynamically, mastering new markets, products and technologies. In a highly competitive environment it is important for company employees to stay in tune with the times.

The Company invests in creating best working conditions for its employees and their professional development, forming a succession pool of young people, educating new engineering elite for Russian industry, in raising the quality of life of its employees and their families, as well as in environmental safety of operations. Every year the Company conducts an employees' opinion survey, the findings serve a basis for development of activities aimed at improving working conditions and creating new opportunities for employees' development.

Employees of GAZ Group plants enter into collective employment contracts that stipulate priority efforts to create safe working environment, develop the personnel, raise the level of corporate culture, improve remuneration and motivation.

GAZ Group shares its success with employees and members of their families. Every year part of the profit is allocated for payout of annual bonus to workers and specialists based on performance in the past year.

Employees training and development

  • Corporate University

    GAZ Group's Corporate University trains employees on 480 unique programs that include instruction in the most in-demand work trades.

    Up to 18,000 people upgrade their skills and learn new professions here annually.

  • Training Center

    In 2012 a new Training Center was established at Gorky Automobile Plant as part of joint projects with international OEMs – here employees master best technologies of global automotive industry in special training areas, simulating work at all stages of production and logistic operations. In total GAZ Group and Volkswagen Group Rus invested EUR 3 million in the Training Center. Up to 600 people go through training here every year.

  • Generation NEXT

    GAZ Group is pursuing a program of succession pool formation and development. In the recent years emphasis was made on forming "Generation NEXT" pool of young people. Also the Company identifies approximately 100 promising young leaders every year who are included in "Shareholder's Reserve" program and go on special training courses to take key positions in the first and second management tiers.

  • Production Leader's School

    The Company successfully implements "Production Leader's School" project, aimed at enhancing qualification level of team leaders, foremen and supervisors. Training is provided both by GAZ Group's in-house coaches and through E-learning online training system. Access to the system is also open to base training facilities that are part of the corporate educational system.


    A fundamental system of future manpower training has been established, comprising among others cooperation with educational institutions of all levels: schools, technical colleges, universities. Specialists of GAZ Group supervise students' course and graduation projects, lead students and teachers in their practical studies and internships at company plants, organize subject-specific departments in specialized educational institutions. GAZ Group is represented on the employers' boards of major Russian universities: Moscow Technical University named after N.E.Bauman, Nizhny Novgorod University named after N.I.Lobachevsky, Yaroslavl Technical University and others. All this helps ensure required proficiency levels of graduates of industry-specific universities and colleges, meeting current requirements of modern production operations. The Company in cooperation with academic institutions places the focus on training young specialists in line with the requirements of Company's enterprises, on fusion of fundamental theoretical knowledge with practical shopfloor training.

Activities for young people

An important element of youth policy is maximizing involvement of young specialists in company development.

GAZ Group holds professional skills contests, science and technology conferences for young employees who are interested in professional advancement and skills improvement. Annually GAZ Group businesses hold interdisciplinary Olympiads, tourist conventions, wit and humor contests and other company-wide events.

Educational, social and charity projects

  • Robotics

    GAZ Group supports Russian program “Robotics: Engineering and Technical Personnel of Innovative Russia” implemented by the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs of the Russian Federation and Charitable Foundation of Oleg Deripaska “Volnoye Delo”. The purpose of the program is promotion of the youth innovative creativity, fostering of engineering and technical personnel for modern production. The company supports annual “Robofest” festival and “Robocross” contest of robotic vehicles.
  • Voluntary Civil Patrol

    Gorky Automobile Plant, AZ Ural, Pavlovo Bus Plant and Yaroslavl Engine Plant of GAZ Group have established voluntary civil patrols to assist the police in enforcement of the law in the regions of coverage of the plants. The [project is implemented in close cooperation with the governmental and law-enforcement authorities.
  • New Generation Worker

    Training of in-demand workers and technicians of new generation based on educational institutions, which are the part of GAZ Group company education system.
  • Women’s Health

    GAZ Group together with Charitable Foundation of Oleg Deripaska “Volnoye Delo” organizes oncological disease prevention system at its plants for the female employees, medical and psychological assistance to the women.
  • Support of cultural and social facilities

    GAZ Group helps several dozens of social facilities in many Russian cities, such as museums, sports clubs, cultural centers, libraries, recreation centers, medical institutions.
  • Give Warmth to Children

    GAZ Group plants organize charitable contributions to help sick children, orphan asylums, large and low-income families.
