GAZ Group and Volkswagen Group Rus are celebrating the fifth anniversary of their cooperation. In June 2011, the parties signed an agreement on contract manufacturing in Nizhny Novgorod and already six months later, in December 2011, they started SKD assembly of SKODA Yeti. The full-cycle production (CKD) of SKODA Yeti was launched in December 2012, including body welding, painting and general assembly.
In 2013, Volkswagen Jetta and SKODA Octavia started to be produced at Nizhny Novgorod site. The total number of cars produced by now in the framework of the agreement between Volkswagen Group Rus and GAZ Group has reached 170 thousand. The maximum design production capacity is 132 thousand vehicles per year. The total investment in the equipment and infrastructure amounts to 300 million euros.
