The president of GAZ Group Vadim Sorokin received the Adam Smith Award in the nomination "Best executive". Experts note the success of the development strategy of GAZ Group, developed by Vadim Sorokin. The strategy is based on the implementation of a modular approach to the development of new models, the synergy of using engineering and technological resources in the development of product lines in various segments of commercial transport.

According to the analytical agency "Autostat", the new model of GAZ - GAZelle NEXT - became the leader in the rating of light commercial vehicles in Russia in 2016, the growth rates of sales of GAZ Group cars significantly outperform the market dynamics. In general, in 2016, GAZ Group released more than 10 new and upgraded products in the LCV segment, bus and truck segments and increased sales in all of these segments, despite continued stagnation on the Russian automotive market.
