GAZ has an in-house engineering centre, full-cycle production facilities in Russia and contract manufacturing sites in Turkey and Kazakhstan. A unique system of lean manufacturing allows raising production efficiency with maximized customer focus while eliminating all losses and involving each employee in organizing continuous improvements in production. The level of automation at GAZ production sites reaches 85% in some operations.

Sobol 4x4 is an off-road vehicle for business, recreation and travel. Due to high road clearance and extended suspension travel, as well as impressive off-road "weaponry", including selected four-wheel drive, low range gears and locking rear axle differential, Sobol 4х4 easily negotiates difficult terrain where most of AWD peers would fail.
GAZ Sport Team
The reliability of GAZ off-roaders was proved in the severe conditions of rally raids. GAZ Raid Sport team is the two-time winner of the Russian championship in rally raids. It took part in the marathon rallies Silken way in 2012, 2013 and 2016. GAZ race cars are built on the platforms of serially produced vehicles and their assemblies and components are serially installed on the vehicles in the line: frames, axles, engines, gearboxes, leaf springs and steering mechanisms.
90 LEGENDARY YEARS
GAZ Automobile Plant (GAZ) was founded in 1932 when the first truck “one-and-a-half-tonner” GAZ-AA rolled off its line. Since the moment of its establishment GAZ has produced over 18 million vehicles launching into production over 350 models and their derivatives. GAZ vehicles reflect the history of Russia and development of the automotive industry. The vehicles produced by the Gorky Automobile Plant are the embodiments of whole epochs in the life of the country.
